PASA Travel Soccer
The Peaks Area Soccer Association (PASA) is a regional soccer organization based in Forest, VA with players from various communities in SW and Central Virginia. PASA provides a positive soccer environment in which players can develop to their full potential and will field competitive boys and girls soccer teams in the Blue Ridge Classic League.

1Funding for tournaments is at the discretion of the PASA Board. PASA reserves the right to limit the amount paid for each team.
Seasons/Commitment
  • U10-U14 play 2 "soccer seasons" (Fall and the following Spring)
  • U15-U19 play 1 "soccer season" (Fall only)
  • Teams can expect to play 8-10 league games per season (half are home games played on fields in Bedford, VA)
  • Travel to "away" league games is typically less than 1.5 hours
  • League games are played on the weekends, and teams typically practice twice a week during the season (PASA utilizes a text messaging service provided by RaindedOut.com™ to notify subscribers of last minute cancellations, schedule changes, etc. - how to subscribe)
Tryouts
  • All players must attend an advertised annual open tryout in the spring preceding the new fall season. Players are selected based on their technical and tactical soccer skills, not politics or friendships.
  • Anyone who misses the annual tryout may still be placed on a team with openings. Those that are interested in playing for PASA, but missed the annual tryout, should contact Greg Doneghue, any of the PASA Coaches or Team Managers.

PASA Technical Director
AJ MaderoAndrew "AJ" Madero is the PASA Technical Director. In 2010, AJ graduated from Liberty University with a BS in General Studies with a specialization in Exercise Science and Psychology. AJ has an impressive resume as an NCAA Division I goalkeeper. At Liberty University, he led the Big South in Goals Against Average, Save Percentages, Shutouts, & Shutout Percentages. His final NCAA Division I GAA ranking was #4 in the nation. As a senior, his season high was eight saves against UVA, the current National Champion, and he went 11 games undefeated, the second longest in Liberty University history. He also gained international playing experience when LU won the National Tournament in Cyprus against men's professional teams. AJ has trained with Bryheem Hancock, a former MLS Goalkeeper & the University of South Florida goalkeeping coach, and he spent the past summer traveling and delivering training as a "No. 1 Soccer Camp" and LU soccer camp instructor.

AJ plans to pursue his Masters at Liberty University where he is currently an assistant men's soccer coach and recruiter. AJ brings to the club a wealth of soccer knowledge gained from competing and training at the highest levels in youth and college soccer.
