The Boards of Directors for Central Virginia United (CVU) and Peaks Area Soccer Association (PASA) are pleased to announce in a historic agreementi the merging of both clubs to create one large regional soccer club beginning in the 2012-2013 season. CVU is committed to working with PASA and all of its membership to ensure a smooth transition. PASA Board Members and Staff will move into influential roles immediately within the Central Virginia United organization.

CVU Technical Director Brent Kellum stated, "the short term and long term impact this merger will have in the Central Virginia Region is tremendous. The goal is to give all players within the area the opportunity to play, have fun, and achieve success at whatever level they desire. The Bedford Community and PASA Staff have done an outstanding job in developing players and a community. We look forward to working closely with all of these talented individuals". Greg Doneghue, PASA Executive Director added "this merger will allow both clubs to offer more programs to our players than could have ever been possible as separate clubs, and the combined regional organization will create an environment where the previous boundaries no longer exist."

CVU will offer affordable opportunities at both the premier and classic levels with a tiered fee structure that is comparable and in most cases lower than other competitive soccer clubs around the state of Virginia. The benefits to all players within the area will be tremendous as a combining of resources will produce the most qualified coaching staff the Central Virginia Region has ever had as well as state of the art training and match facilities.

The Boards of Directors for CVU and PASA look forward to seeing all of the membership at tryouts in May.
